When do I start teaching my child to write ???
Many mothers ask when should I start teaching my child how to write?
Some believe that if a child learns to hold a pen and write early, their writing skills will become better, and some mothers believe that children do not learn how to write until they reach to the kindergarten.
In fact, both beliefs are wrong. We can say that we can start teaching the children the writing skills around the age of three. Previously, researchers assumed that a child could not write letters until he knew the pronunciation of the letter and its sound, but recent studies assert that a child can learn how to write letters even if he does not know what they mean or what their sounds are, it is like drawing for them
Therefore, it is not required for the child to learn the sounds of letters, and in general, children develop their writing skills at different rates and in different stages. The child (from one to two years old): holds the pen in his fist and understands that crayons are used to make shapes or drawings. As for the pre-school child (from three to four years): draws wavy lines across the page, makes distinct letter-like marks, separated from each other, and writes some actual letters. He may be able to write his name at the end of the fourth year. He also tries to imitate the written words, and they seem drawn, so he starts drawing pictures, such as flowers or butterflies, in an unprofessional way, but it is easy for you to distinguish them.
In short, we can can say that you can start teaching your child actual writing at the age of three, but before that, he can – as we mentioned – draw on the sand or draw with his fingers or form the shape of letters with beads, to develop his fine movements, to make it easier for him to write later
Finally, we find that learning the writing skill is one of the most difficult skills that a child must learn, as this involves a number of skills and processes developed for him, and we must take into account the natural differences between children, where abilities vary from one child to another.
These abilities do not develop in the right way unless they are accompanied by planning and teaching with high accuracy

سؤالٌ يراود كثير من الأمهات متى يجب أن أبدأ بتعليم طفلي الكتابة؟ ؟؟
البعض يعتقد أنّه كلما تعلَّم الطفل الإمساك بالقلم والكتابة في وقتٍ مبكر، تصبح مهاراتهم في الكتابة أفضل، كذلك تعتقد بعض الأمهات أن الأطفال لا يتعلمون الكتابة إلا مع اقترابهم من سن الروضة، والحقيقة أن كلا المعتقدين خاطئ، نستطيع القول أنه يمكننا أن نبدأ بتعليم الأطفال مهارات الكتابة في عمر الثالثة تقريبًا. في السابق، افترض الباحثون أن الطفل لا يستطيع كتابة الحروف إلا بعد أن يعرف نطق الحرف وصوته، ولكن أثبتت الدراسات الحديثة أن الطفل يمكنه تعلم كتابة الحروف حتى لو لم يعرف ماذا تعني أو ما أصواتها، فالأمر أقرب للرسم بالنسبة لهم، لذا لا يُشترط أن يتعلم الطفل أصوات الحروف، وبصفة عامة يطوّر الأطفال مهارات الكتابة بمعدلات مختلفة وعلى مراحل، فالطفل (من عمر سنة إلى سنتين): يمسك القلم في قبضة يده ويفهم أن أقلام التلوين تُستخدم لعمل أشكال أو رسومات.
أما الطفل ما قبل المدرسة (من ثلاث إلى أريع سنوات): يرسم خطوطًا متموجة عبر الصفحة، ويقوم بعمل علامات مميزة تشبه الحروف، وتكون منفصلة عن بعضها البعض فيكتب بعض الحروف الفعلية. وقد يتمكن من كتابة اسمه مع نهاية العام الرابع. وأيضاً يحاول تقليد الكلمات المكتوبة، وتبدو كأنها مرسومة فيبدأ برسم الصور، كالورود أو الفراشات بطريقة غير محترفة، ولكن يسهل عليكِ تمييزها. اختصارًا يمكن القول إنه يمكنكِ بدء تعليم طفلكِ الكتابة الفعلية في عمر ثلاث سنوات، أما قبل ذلك، فيمكنه -كما ذكرنا- الرسم على الرمال أو الرسم بأصابعه أو تكوين شكل الحروف بحبات الخرز، لتنمية الحركات الدقيقة لديه، ليسهل عليه الكتابة فيما بعد.
وأخيرا ، نجد إن تعلم مهارة الكتابة من أحد أصعب المهارات التي يجب على الطفل تعلمها، إذ ينطوي ذلك على عدد من المهارات والعمليات المطورة لديه، ولا بد أن نأخذ بعين الاعتبار الاختلافات الطبيعية بين الأطفال حيث تتفاوت القدرات من طفل إلى آخر، وهذه القدرات لا تتطوّر بالطريقة الصّحيحة إلا إذا ترافقت مع تخطيط وتعليم بدقةٍ عاليةٍ
